At Grande Ronde Hospital and Clinics, we're committed to making those moments as safe, comforting, and empowering as possible. Thanks to our community of generous donors and partners like the Roots and Wings Foundation, we’re making real and lasting progress.

Through the Healthier Together Campaign, the Grande Ronde Hospital Foundation has recently funded a series of impactful improvements that are transforming the patient experience for families and children throughout our region.

A Growing Demand for Maternity Care and a Growing Response

Since the fall of 2023, births at the GRH Family Birthing Center have increased by an incredible 40 percent. More families are choosing to welcome their babies at GRH, and with that growth comes the need for added resources, updated equipment, and renewed spaces to match the level of care we strive to provide.

Thanks to donor support and a multi-year grant from the Roots and Wings Foundation, we’ve been able to respond with compassion and readiness. The Foundation has funded the purchase of:

• Convertible couches and sleeper chairs, allowing support people to stay comfortably overnight during labor and recovery

• Modern bassinets, giving our smallest patients the safest and most comfortable start

• A new airway clearance tool, providing critical support in emergency newborn care

• A refreshed and updated procedure room, creating a more modern and welcoming environment for patients and staff

These updates are not just equipment and furniture. They are tangible investments in the dignity and well-being of every mother, baby, and family that walks through our doors.
